I Slept Around to Get the New Nokia Lumia 928 Phone – Product Review
Ok, I didn’t.
But I totally offered.
After seeing a demo of the new Nokia Lumia 928 phone I have been nothing less than obsessed. So obsessed I made indecent proposals to Nokia. Luckily for me as a Verizon Blogger I received one for review, no favors needed. I almost wonder if I should be offended?
Back to this mad phone. It has a Carl Zeiss lens, it shoots it low light, it has some crazy audio thing that makes videos sound awesome. I’m pretty sure that’s the technical name for it..
If you have been following me for a while you know that there’s not a moment of my day that goes undocumented. Lose a tooth? It’s on Twitter within minutes. Every angle of every hotel, I get the shot. I’m even getting paid by big companies to make videos, I know right?
Blogging now is so much more than just writing, we are supposed to be photographers, videographers, editors, Instagram experts, Pinterest experts.
Like most of the free world, I have been in bed with Apple for a while. I have owned every version of the iPhone, I have iPads, Macs, iPods, you name it. The stores are like crack dealers, and the interface is just so easy. You shoot a pic on one and it’s everywhere. Until I started working with Verizon I had no interest in even looking at another phone, I was faithful to my Apple.
Then I saw the Nokia, it’s a Windows phone, I can still barely make a call on it. But oh the photos. And the slick design, and the gorilla glass.
It has a Pure View camera (I have no idea what that means) but this slick new technology lets in more light for better photos in low light.
It has Hyper Real sound (these can’t be technical names right?) It boasts distortion free sound so I decided to try it out vs. my iPhone at last night’s John Mayer concert. I got so distracted by the dreamy Mayer that I had a hard time getting competing video of the same song
The Windows phone is more intuitive than I expected it to be, that said, I still have a lot of YouTube watching to do to figure out how to work everything. My kids taught me that, reading the manuals is so last century, we learn everything by video now.
The phone did a few crazy things I didn’t expect, like everyone is in my contact list from Facebook. So if you’re not a Facebook friend I guess I can’t call you until I figure out how to import my other friends. We all know what this means for my luddite husband Jeff Evans.
The gorilla glass is awesome for someone who breaks her phone around every four months or so AND it hooks up to Xbox. You know how I love my Xbox.
The jury is still out on the rest of the phone, but for the mobile camera and video capabilities alone the Nokia Lumia 928 has earned a place in my bag. And I’m sure JJ will teach me to make a call on it soon.
I am a Verizon Lifestyle Blogger and receive products for review. They love me for my utter lack of technology prowess and don’t expect super technical reviews, they want the honest opinion of a tired, far sighted mom.
