Packing My boots for the Family Travel Conference in Dallas
I’m packing my bags for the second Family Travel Conference in Dallas. This is by far my favorite conference. Not just because it’s hosted by Traveling Mom but because it’s one of the few conferences I’ve been to that provides truly useful content, professional speakers and a supportive group of bloggers.
This is an intimate invitation only conference, most of the cost is covered by the amazing sponsors. Shout out to DisneyParks, Snowmamas, Dallas Zoo, Omni Hotels, Southwest Airlines, CityPass and Visit Orlando.
The speakers aren’t other bloggers, they are professionals in the travel and news industry. My hero, and fellow mom, Wendy Perrin of Conde’ Nast will be on hand to discuss “How to Use Social Media to Grow Your Brand”.
Genevieve Shaw Brown from ABCNews.com will be teaching a seminar on “What’s The Story? How to Captivate Your Audience”. In fact an entire line up of industry professionals are slated to teach us how to do our jobs better, use video and monetize. My husband is particularly excited about the last one.
Another reason I love the Family Travel Conference is the swag. There’s no Clorox or Swiffers here. Um, hello, I’m more than just a housekeeper dear brands trying to reach bloggers. At last February’s conference in New York each attendee received this fab carry on suitcase from Ricardo of Beverly Hills. If you read my blog often you know that I rarely do reviews. If you see a review, you know it’s something I really liked. My basement is full of free stuff I’ve received in the hopes of a review. If it’s not truly luxury and truly useful, you’ll never hear about it. This suitcase has been on almost every trip I’ve taken since the last Family Travel Conference. I love this thing. With airlines constantly re-assigning or canceling flights I try to always fly carry on.
I’ll be posting updates from the conference and will share everything I learn with all of you. Who knows, I might even make a video.
The conference is being hosted by Traveling Mom, Family Travel Forum and Taking the Kids. I am an ambassador for the conference and have had all of my costs, except airfare, covered by the organizers. I would attend this conference at any price. It’s that good.
