The stunning St. Regis in Bal Harbour truly re-defines luxury. Partly because they spent $800 million dollars building it, partly because the location and service are over the top, but mostly because it’s iconically St. Regis. All of the rooms feature balconies and ocean views, the standard guest rooms are the largest on the eastern seaboard at 650 square feet, that’s bigger than my first apartment.
Looking for a little more space for your brood? Book a suite and get a butler with purchase. What does a butler do you wonder? Oh believe me, I did too. If you ask they will:
Unpack you. They even hang your clothes by color and style.
Deliver your coffee or tea in the morning, or afternoon if you wish (on silver trays, natch)
Shine your shoes (my flip flops didn’t need any, so no photos)
Press your clothes (bikini also in good shape)
Re-pack you for your trip home. All of your clothes will look as if they’ve been gift wrapped, but the real treat is spending your last minutes lounging on the patio while someone else does everyone’s least favorite travel chore.
The St. Regis makes it easy to bring the whole family:
If you are staying in a suite you can pre-order your groceries and have pb&j’s on hand whenever you need them.
The SPG Kids Pass allows children under 12 to eat for one low price daily. Their signature restaurant, J&G Grill features all of the best dishes from the various Jean Georges restaurants. Trust me, eating out beats mac & cheese in the suite any day of the week.
Kid’s Camp is no crayons and daycare affair. This gorgeous space, adorably called The Sea Turtle Club, is right by the pool and they take the kids outside for beach scavenger hunts and fun water games. You can book half day, full day or drop the wee ones off for night camp so you enjoy a grown up dinner.
The property boasts two huge outdoor infinity pools and sits on a gorgeous expanse of white sand beaches. The main pool welcomes families and is just steps from the beach, the tranquility pool is the place to be while the kids are at camp. Reluctant to leave the butler service you’ve come to love in your suite? Book a private cabana and enjoy amenities such as chilled cucumber towels, Sunrise and Mojito cart presentation, plush robe with slippers, and of course your own cabana butler to meet any other needs.
While the kids are enjoying camp mom can relax in the ultra luxe Remede Spa or spend some time shopping at the swank Bal Harbour Shops just across the street. Too tired to walk back with all those shopping bags? The hotel will send the Bentley, gratis.
For the fitness fanatic, or fitness wannabes, there are Chris and Tracy, the trainers to the stars who run V-Art of Wellness private boot camps. I tried a little “aeroga” (high energy yoga on the beach), the workout was amazing and I will never admit that I was sore for days.
The St Regis truly welcomes children, I have yet to bring mine so we’ll see if they mean it when they meet the Evans boys. Having enjoyed a glorious 24 hours on property I can highly recommend this five star dreamland.
I was the guest of the St. Regis as part of a Bal Harbour press trip. I was not compensated for this post and my opinions cannot be bought with butlers.
